How to get Started

  • Step 1. Take measurements & weight.

    Tape Measure or Ruler:

    Use a flexible tape

    1.Gather the Right Tools:

Tape Measure or Ruler: Use a flexible tape measure for larger parcels, and a ruler for smaller items.

Scale: For weight, you'll need a digital scale.

Level Surface: Place the parcel on a flat surface to ensure accurate measurements.

    2. Measure the Length, Width, and Height:

Length: This is typically the longest side of the parcel.

Width: The next longest side, perpendicular to the length.

Height: The shortest side (if it's a box) or the vertical measurement if it's an irregular shape.

Tip: Always measure the parcel from the longest dimensions, regardless of orientation. For example, if you're measuring a box, the length is the longest side, width is the next longest, and height is the shortest.

For irregular shapes (e.g., tubes, cylinders): Measure the overall length and girth (distance around the thickest part of the item).

Use the measuring tape or ruler to ensure that you’re measuring from end to end for each dimension, and double-check the numbers.

    3. Check the Volume (Optional):

If you need to calculate the volume for shipping purposes (like with dimensional weight pricing):

    Volume = Length × Width × Height.

Make sure to use consistent units (e.g., centimeters).

Devide the total with the volume factor 5000

    4. Weigh the Parcel:

Use a digital scale to weigh the parcel. If you're shipping with a courier, they may use dimensional weight to determine shipping costs, so accurate weight is essential.

    5. Consider Packaging Material:

Don’t forget that if you’re packaging something inside a box or wrapping, the outer dimensions will be the ones you need to measure, not just the item itself.

    7. Double-Check Your Measurements:

Before finalizing, always double-check your measurements. An error in one of the dimensions can lead to shipping discrepancies or higher costs.

Scale: For weight, you'll need a digital scale.

Level Surface: Place the parcel on a flat surface to ensure accurate measurements.
